Growing lettuces in the garden means I have an abundance maybe even too much for just making salad. So I decided to fire it in my juice as I like to do that with my romaine lettuce...
Learning about the white liquid that comes out of the leaves when it's picked can help you sleep at night and also there are many other benifits I realised juicing the stuff is the perfect way to get the most out of my.lettuce patch without to much waste... Of course any waste I have will go into my compost heaps which will go into my soil when ready next year...
So my juice today is the first in a while... I did use honey to sweeten this and gradually ween off of that...
So my recipe today was :
1 cucumber
1/2 a lemon
7 oranges
4 apples
A wad of the various lettuces I'm growing
And a Wad of spinach....
Mix in some honey for sweetnes if you've got a sweet tooth like I do...
I just these as I needed to use em up quick as we are off to stay with family for a few days...
Anyhoo this is my first juice in a while I'll be on here again soon with plenty more recipes an info as I've got Red Russian kale, Mixed Brassica and Rainbow chard growing... I also have some french beans and Scarlet beans on the grow but I haven't had much success with them this year.
New garden with new challenges aka alot more pests and open to heavy winds... Still its a major step up from my smaller garden I used to have...
