Banana and Blueberry Green Smoothy

Banana
Blueberries
Spinach
Coconut Water
Honey
Greek Yogurt

First blend the handful of spinach with coconut water.
Then add the honey, yogurt and banana blend. The  add berrys  and a touch of mixed spices powder.  Blitz until smooth. Drink Staight away.  Because I used frozen berrys and spinach the smoothy was nice and cold.

Right now most of my smoothies have had banana in them which I love but as I do more I will start using other ingredients and I hope to have some juice recipes coming up asap.

Home Made Savoury Rice

Hi there so today I tried out making my own savoury rice.

Feeds two:

1x cup of brown rice boiled for 35mins

1x chopped Onion cut to your preference
1x handfull of Kale (fresh or frozen)
Garlic Granuals or fresh Garlic Cloves.
1x cup of peas (fresh or Frozen)
1x carrot cut small or chunky.

So boil the rice for 35 mins or so, 10 mins before its finished crumble a stoxk cube of your choice and stir into it.

I used brown rice as its healthier and has a slower release of energy which sustains you for longer.  Its optional on what rice you would like to use.

Whilst the rice is doing its thing, pop on the carrots and peas on the hob to blanch. Whilst the veggys are boiling,  Using Olive oil  fry the onion untill soft add the kale and some of the garlic.   Once the kale looks slightly cooked take it off the heat abd wait for the veggys to blanch.

Once the peas and carrots are blanched and drained add them to your fry mixture add a knob of butter, the rest of the garlic and crumble a stock cube over it.  Give it a 5min fry or so to coat all the mixture in the flavours.

Once the rice is cooked and drained mix everything together in a large bowl, voila you have savoury rice.

Let me know what you guys think?  Also play around with this and do your own thing thats what I did.

Its a nice quick half hour concotion with many options and varietys that can be encorporated into this.  All very affordable too....

Awesome Water

So for the last few months I've been quite into having a hot lemon water.  Sometimes I've had lime water and recently I've had ginger and turmeric.

So you might be thinking hang on a minute ain't that the stuff that goes in curry?

But in actual fact these can also be drunk with water or in a juice.  Fresh, powdered or consentrated.  For instance when I first started out was using a bottle of consentrated lime juice just dripping in few drops into my pint of half boiled water half cold water.   Make sure you put just a little boiled water in bottom of glass to heat up the glass before pouring more. Usually I do half an half or just a bit more hot water so it's nice an warming. Not too hot tho as it can burn, the reason I'm having warm water is that it's good for getting the digestive system going in the morning. Nice an soothing with the lemon wich is also cleansing.  I have added slices of ginger as ginger is a great anti inflammatory so is tumoric. As I only have powder form I have kept a spoon in so I can stirr it as I drink.  Be warned tho go easy on the turmeric as it has an quite a kick to it if you put loads in first time. Best to build it up gradually.

Here is a link to more information on how awesome tumoric is.

It's well worth having this spice in your healthy food arsenal as it has so many benifits it would be silly not to.

Red Juice Descovered

So just making it up as I go, I came up with a juice that has some punch to it. Filled with greens also but the red pigment in my chosen ingredients pravails all...

A bag of carrots cut into chunks1kg to 1.5kg
1 Red pepper cut and deseeded
4 satsumas peeled and split
4 small apples or two if they are large
4 handfuls of chopped green kale
1 romaine lettuce with end trimmed off.

When juicing the kale make sure you put handfuls in between satsumas so they juice easier.

The fruit an veg used balance quite nicely with the pepper adding a nice after taste binding it all together nicely...

Try it out let me know what you think :)

Next time I do it I'll make sure I photograph

Black Forrest Dream

Hi guys I whipped up this simple but gorgeous pack full if flavour.

This beautiful coloured smoothie is just a made up of 2 ingredients frozen black forest berries which I bought from asda for £2.  You can use fresh but I prefer frozen as they keep for longer and they chill the smoothy.
Rubicon Coconut Water which costs £1 for 1l.  Less is more with this smoothy as you can add just a handful or 2 of berrys into the coconut water.  Both flavours compliment each other well. I described it to be similar to a slush puppy.

Delicious ☺ will update ASAP with health benifits of this recipe... Enjoy xxx

Green Smoothy to Die for

Hi guys so I thought I'd share with you my green smoothie I have made today.  This will be my low kcal healthy breakfast.

1 Avocado
2 Bananas
1 handful of Spinach
1 handful if Kale
1 handful of Cabbage Nero
1 cup or so of coconut water
As much or less coconut milk. (Koko Dairy Free Milk substitute)  As much or less water depending on what consistency you'll want it.  (Bearing in mind the smoothie will thicken over time if not consumed strait away).

I blended the fruit and liquid first and then gradually blended up chopped or ripped up leaves in until it was fine enough.

Dark leafy greens to purify and cleanse your system.
Avocado full of good fats and amino acids very good for your completion.  Bananas packed full of energy to keep you going.

So I done all this in a large 2/3 ltr jug (unsure of exact capacity but it's big)  so I have enough to go round my Husband and Daughter and then I can have more later.
It can be made less or more thin or thick depending on your preferences. Also you can blend ice into this for instant chill.

Enjoy ❤💙💚💛💜
